For tiled roofs, we often replace and repoint mortar that has been damaged by weather or storms. This can include ridge tile mortar, valley mortar, or verge mortar. We also replace damaged or slipped roof tiles.
If your roof has multiple issues or leaks, it may be more cost-effective to fully renew the roof tiles, battens, nails, and underfelt, or to partially replace it. Depending on the age and condition of the roof tiles, they may be reusable, but the battens, nails, and underfelt would need to be renewed.
In addition to slipped tiles and leaks, condensation is another common issue, especially during the colder months of winter. Loft condensation can lead to damaged timbers internally, as they are not treated to prevent water damage. It can also damage household items stored in the loft.
To help prevent condensation, we offer several different options.

Chimneys can experience various issues. Damaged or poorly set lead flashing can allow water ingress, leading to water entering the loft space. Due to their design, chimneys are often the highest and most exposed parts of a property roof, making them susceptible to weathering. This can result in damaged brickwork, mortar deterioration, and chimney pot damage. When necessary, we rebuild chimney tops or the entire chimney breast. It's crucial to ensure the chimney repointing and brickwork are in good condition. If your home was built before 1930, the chimney mortar may be lime mortar. In this case, we can assist with either lime mortar repointing or modern Portland cement repointing.
