Fibreglass, or glass fibre is a reinforced plastic material which is composed of glass fibres which are laid across each other and held together with an emulsion binding substance. Fibreglass is combined with resin to form an extremely strong and durable composite. This makes an excellent choice for roofing, as it is a very hard wearing product, with a longer lifespan that other alternatives, such as felt or rubber which can weather and fail at a faster rate. We offer a bespoke mixing service, not seen elsewhere and can mix almost any colour that you could need. We can also add a non-slip and/or fire retardant top coat depending on your requirements. Fibreglass roofing is a cold process that does not require any heat sources, this means our process is far safer than other options on the market. Fibreglass can be applied to various substrates, such as wood, felt, concrete and metal and its is completed seamless once completed, unlike felt which can fail at the overlap overtime. Used predominantly on both flat and pitched roofs, the process can also be used to cover damaged lead work and cast iron gutters, which is a much cheaper option than replacing. Extensive testing has demonstrated that the typical life expectancy of a GRP roof product to be well in excess of 50 years.
