Not simply a roofing material, it is used in various applications, including walkways and steps. Mastic asphalt is delivered to site as solidified blocks and is re-melted before applying to the deck in two coats on top of a layer of loose laid sheathing felt which protects the mastic asphalt covering from damage caused by thermal movement of the deck.
