Gilesgate Builders have done extensive roof and brickwork repairs on our 1920’s house. They are our local builder. I have found (I’m a retired tradesman) that they take a pride in their work and do a job I can be proud of too. I recommend them.

As promised, as soon as the coronavirus lockdown was over, Michael organised the scaffolder and his team replaced two windows and the shiplap cladding on the front of our dormer. All the installation work was done to a high standard and the dormer now looks excellent! The scaffolding was removed within two days of completion of these works and the team then replaced an area of old concrete between the patio and the drive. The new concrete, incorporating a drain, was also done to a high standard. All waste materials were removed daily and the relevant areas left clean and tidy. The works were completed within ten days and within the budget price (including some additional pinning works on the sides of the dormer). The team was professional and pleasant throughout and I would thoroughly recommend them for this sort of work.

Full roof replacement carried out. Loft insulation replaced while old roof tiles were removed. From the first phone call, John at J&L Welch could not have been more helpful and professional. He dropped numerous tile samples off for us as were struggling to decide which ones to go for. He arranged everything for us and the job ended up being a little bit cheaper than we’d anticipated. It only took 2 days to complete once the scaffold was up so very quick work too. Have already recommended him to friends and family who have had work done by him since. Faultless from start to finish.
